National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the United States of America each April, typically the second full week. Which include all types of libraries - school, public, academic and special - participate.
National Library Week 2009 will be celebrated with the theme, "Worlds connect @ your library."

The library is sponsoring two fun events to celebrate Earth Day, a recycled art project and a writing contest.
Attention Writers!
Anne Springs Close Library is challenging you to a writing contest!
Guidelines for the writing contest:
In collaboration with Earth day by displaying original recycled works of art in the Anne Springs Close Library. The Library Club is encouraging students and faculty to submit their own works.
Guidelines for the art:
The recycled art project is open to the campus community, and artwork can be submitted any time and will be on display until April 22.

- Any person enrolled in at least one class can enter their written work.
- The written work can be about anything that pertains to the environment.
For example, how we can help or the state the environment is in today. - Bodies of work can be Poems, short stories, essays etc.
- The deadline for submission is April 20, 2009
